About Us
The Cobb Disc Golf Club supports disc golf in Cobb County, Georgia. We organize local disc golf competitions at Oregon Park in Marietta, and work with the Cobb County Parks and Recreation Department to maintain the disc golf course at Oregon Park.  We work with young and old alike to advance their skills and participation in the worldwide sport and competition of disc golf.  Our membership includes both professional and amateur disc golfers.

We are working with the Cobb County Parks and Recreation Department to develop the presence of the sport in Cobb County.  In 2009, our club helped expand the Oregon Park course, the only disc golf course in Cobb County, from a 9-hole course to an 18-hole course.  We are continuing this expansion in 2010 with plans to install two additional 18-hole courses in the county.  We expect to break ground on the first course this Summer, in newly available land at Oregon Park, pending county approval of Kevin McCoy's design and success in our fundraising campaign.  The second course will be designed for property on Pitner Road that the county has reserved for disc golf.

The club organizes and hosts several annual tournaments at Oregon Park, including an "Ice Bowl" charity tournament in the Winter, a "Friends of the Park" fundraiser tournament in the Spring, and a late Summer "Ace Race."  See the "Club Events" page for more details.

In addition to these seasonal tournaments, the club hosts weekly random-draw doubles competitions on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6pm.  These events are held in the daylight during warm weather months, but the format changes to "glow doubles" with a later starting time when we lose the benefit of daylight savings time.  See the "Club Events" page for more details.
