The Fourth Annual Friends of Oregon Park Fundraiser Tournament
Saturday, August 13, 2011
What is it?
Our annual Friends of the Park fundraiser tournament is one of the club's important fundraising events. Our operating budget generally lets us pay for our tournaments and weekly events, and our sponsors have helped us pay for the new set of Discatcher baskets on the renovated layout, but the FOP will help us improve all the details that make the course "nice." Previous FOP tournaments helped us purchase baskets and install concrete pads on the old layout. While these are still in use on the renovated layout, we have more pads that we would like to set in concrete, and we have a few old "silver" baskets that we'd like to replace. This year's FOP should help us improve the layout that our sponsors have helped us install over the past year.
Concrete tee pads can cost around $100 in raw materials. Good "silver" baskets for Oregon Park (like the DGA Mach V) cost upwards of $400 each to purchase and install. The more money we raise, the more concrete pads or new baskets we can install to replace the old dirt pads or the old mystery baskets.
What kind of tournament is this?
The tournament will be 2 rounds of 18 holes. There will be three divisions available: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. The top 3 finishers in each division will win medals, and we will have side action available for those who want it.
What will I get?
The player's pack will include lunch and a mini disc. You will also get the chance to compete for the winners' medals and the side action pots. You'll also get to help improve our course just by playing a couple of rounds!
How do I sign up?
The entry Fee will be $20. There are 3 ways to sign up. You can register in person at BP Sports Collectibles at Marietta Square or at any of the club's weekly events (see Chris Worden, our membership chairman). Fill out this flier if you plan to sign up in person.
We have also set up a Paypal link right here so you can register online.
